Overview
LightForce Brackets bring a new level of precision and customization to orthodontic treatment for teens and adults who want effective results without excess appointments. At Granite Coast Orthodontics, we use 3D-printed custom brackets designed to match each tooth’s unique shape and position, helping create more accurate tooth movement throughout treatment. For the right patient and the right bite, this customized approach may help improve treatment efficiency and reduce the need for unnecessary adjustments. If you worry about long appointments or want a more personalized orthodontic experience with less visible hardware than traditional braces, these custom brackets offer a precise, patient-focused solution.

LightForce Brackets: 3D-Printed Custom Fit

We design each treatment from an exact digital model of your teeth. First, we take a fast iTero digital impression, which is sent to the LightForce laboratory, where your custom brackets are digitally designed and 3D printed specifically for your smile before being shipped to our office. Because every bracket is made for an individual tooth, we can control tip, rotation, and positioning with exceptional precision from the very beginning of treatment. Our i-CAT FLX Cone Beam Scanner provides detailed 3D imaging that supports accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Our in-house Formlabs, and Shining 3D printers serve a different purpose—they allow us to create study models for collaboration with general dentists and specialists, fabricate retainers and TMJ splints, and produce limited aligners when only a few are needed. This combination of customized LightForce brackets and advanced in-office technology helps us deliver efficient, individualized orthodontic care. Patients appreciate this highly personalized approach because every bracket is designed specifically for their unique smile rather than using a one-size-fits-all system.

How The Process Works

A typical treatment follows clear, predictable steps that remove guesswork and keep visits efficient. We walk you through each part of the process and answer questions at every stage so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Digital scan with iTero and 3D X-ray imaging.
  • Custom treatment planning and fabrication of your personalized LightForce brackets.
  • Bonding appointment followed by periodic adjustment visits to monitor progress.

You’ll leave your first appointment knowing your treatment plan and seeing the digital roadmap for your future smile. Our friendly team explains each stage of treatment, discusses expected timelines, and provides instructions for caring for your braces between visits. Throughout treatment, we monitor your progress carefully to keep your teeth moving according to plan while making adjustments only when needed.

Benefits You Can Expect

LightForce Brackets give measurable advantages over traditional stock brackets and may be an excellent option for patients who need more customized tooth movement than clear aligners can provide. Because each bracket is designed specifically for an individual tooth, treatment can be more precise and predictable from the beginning. For appropriately selected patients, this customized precision may help shorten overall treatment time while reducing the need for unnecessary refinements.

You can expect:

  • More precise tooth movement tailored to your unique bite.
  • Fewer unexpected bracket repositioning appointments.
  • Efficient adjustments that help keep treatment progressing as planned.

These improvements help families fit orthodontic treatment into busy schedules while increasing confidence in treatment timelines. Predictable tooth movement reduces uncertainty and makes it easier to plan around school, work, vacations, and extracurricular activities. While every patient’s treatment is unique, customized brackets allow us to deliver a more individualized orthodontic experience from start to finish.

Comfort And Aesthetics

Many patients choose custom brackets because they follow the natural contours of each tooth, creating a lower-profile appearance that blends more naturally with the smile than traditional metal brackets. Their customized fit also supports precise tooth movement throughout treatment while making daily brushing and flossing easier.

Although Granite Coast Orthodontics offers private treatment rooms for adults and patients with significant dental anxiety, many children and teenagers enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of our open treatment space, known as the Quad. With four treatment chairs, the Quad encourages conversation, allows families to reconnect during appointments, and lets younger patients see older patients progressing successfully through treatment. We believe this friendly, community-focused environment helps many patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey. Our team also provides personalized oral hygiene guidance and practical tips to help keep your teeth and gums healthy while wearing braces.
